Project Engineer

Middendorf and Reuss Construction, is seeking an experienced project engineer. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subcontractors to evaluate project details and costs.
  • Develop project schedules and estimate timelines.
  • Work closely with Project Superintendents throughout the project, including scope review, budgeting, and pricing.
  • Assist in establishing scheduling requirements with architects, subcontractors, and owners.
  • Build relationships and generate interest from bidders across various markets.
  • Identify and invite qualified subcontractors to submit bids.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors’ field installations.
  • Document change orders and maintain related cost reports.
  • Support preconstruction meetings and assist with estimating for assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Organize and store project documents and information in a systematic manner.
  • Review and validate subcontractor proposals and bids.
  • Assist in identifying critical work items and procuring long-lead materials.
  • Administer general contracts and subcontracts.
  • Monitor and document job-site safety and accident prevention.
  • Review and coordinate shop drawings and submittals.
  • Review, update, and report on project costs and accounting.
  • Review subcontractor applications for payment.
  • Participate in and document project coordination meetings.
  • Create and process RFIs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, including health, safety, and welfare standards.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Construction Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Procore project management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptable to changing conditions and project demands.
  • Professional demeanor with both co-workers and clients.
